Australian Bush Food bed

Sunday morning the sun was out so I got stuck into the new bed for the Aussie Bush Food Bed.



Luckydog helped with pegging out the shape, using a length of hose and tent pegs.
Basically a keyhole bed shape with the raised tank bed as the top of the keyhole.
The wood was used to ensure the beds were evenly spaced.

The topsoil on the path was dug out and used to raise the beds on either side.



Old crusher dust from a path no longer needed was re-used on this path.
Re-used rocks form the front edge and because the path was straight 2 lengths of hard wood rescued from an old fence was used here as edging.

Rocks from the bed and crusher dust was put in the base of the Tank bed. This one is not being made into a wicking bed but will just be a raised bed.



More rocks for the outside edge and it was ready for topping up with soil from elsewhere in the garden.
Just needs some mulch from the chook run and it can wait for some rain until planting in spring.
